What would you do if your mother were this ignorant?

She thinks she’s something. She thinks she reads a lot. She’s a conservative religious muslim person. She constantly throws shade and has been belittling me since the day I was born.

Since childhood, I’ve been reading, researching, creating, and improving myself in this 3rd world country with low education and economy. But because of my oppressive, bigoted family, I grew up to be someone with very low self-confidence.

I developed software and sold it abroad, I speak English like a native, and I earned two distance-education university degrees.

Even at age 30 she still continues belittling me. She says AI is something for empty people. She says, “You trust America, but God will punish America, it will collapse,” even though I’ve never praised the U. S. government and have never even left the country.

I worked with music for a while, made 200 beats, I even have studio recordings, and she said music is forbidden (haram). Whatever I did, she discouraged and belittled it. Such an ignorant, annoying, overly critical person.

You’d need a thousand witnesses to call her a mother. I ended up staying with her again due to life circumstances, but a person really can’t tolerate this level of ignorance anymore. She never supported me—always held me back. And yet we always called her “mom,” we pitied her, we showed mercy. She didn’t leave anyone in her life anyway.

Being forced to hate your own mother is a terrible thing.

And my dad also beat me up a lot when raising me, and 80% of the reasons, mom reported my every move to my dad every single day, for almost no reason, even when I was a baby.
