Intimidating tomboy likes shy guy... Tips?

Okay, so I'm a Junior in high school and I've been known to be intimidating... I admit I have a dirty mouth and stick to skinny jeans and tshirts and hoodies but it's something I've been doing for a couple of years now and I've realized that I'm a tomboy but I have a need to be a little girlie from time to time.

Anyways, there's a guy that I've had my eye on. Almost all my friends are girls but I have the occasional guy friend, always have a love hate thing going on with guys, and all my girl friends are friends with this guy but frankly.. He's way too nice and a little on the shy side. I have lunch with him and he always helps me out in French if I need it and I think I'm joining Marching band next year so we'll have that in common too. I don't know how this guy's brain works and I definitely don't know how to get him to like me but I don't think he'll be attracted to me because of my personality being too loud and outgoing but I really want some tips on how to get him to think of me as a girl... I feel like such a p**** doing this, but lehgo.

First question, are you one of the more popular girls in school? I remember in hs, popular girls that were also pretty were really intimidating. If you are you will almost certainly have tl make the first move and be straight forward with it. It may work in your favor because if he's a quiet shy guy, and you brought him into a different crowd he may open up and look forward to that. It may seem trivial to you but it'd stroke his ego. Just be careful though, he's still young enough that it could alter his personality if he realized he's capable of more without you. Not saying it will happen, saying it can happen.
