We need to start valuing women for more than their bodies, it will make women feel like they dont need to edit themselves <3 Women are perfect and beautiful as long as they are healthy :)
There is no unrealistic beauty expectations. You are just not attractive. Is unrealistic beauty expectations for man being 6feet tall? While majority guys are 5'5" ? No? Then fuck you :) Big breast. Slim body. aren't unrealistic beauty expectations. Its just preferences
Lol and how do you know which one is real or not? You're assuming the uglier ones are the real ones-- how do you know those aren't the altered ones, so-altered because someone has an axe to grind?

Well starting from the top Pic 1: those aren't natural prepositions. Pic 2: Khloe looks nothing like that picture she uploaded to ig Pic 3: looks like the editor brought in her ribcage Pic 4: was from an ig account that gave an example of how different bodies are than photoshopped ones. Pic 5: the right picture was screenshot of a video of the same day tana took that picture.
I know women who edit their photos like this. It's more common than you think. It's also easy. People can even changed some of here looks in videos these days.
It's sad really. I can only imagine how they view themselves. And young girls look up to these celebrities and influencers and compare themselves to a fake reality.
False advertising? They are not products to sell lol... most are making a living out of being instagram models so they edit themselves to look "perfect "
It is scary that it is even possible. Technology has always been dangerous, but social technology is just coming into it. It's a scary world. Don't date off social media is my take on it.

I think video chatting would be a solution if you are worried about that
Yes, possibly, I've actually been considering online dating but A) I'm afraid it's about as useful as flushing money. And B) Things like this topic make me afraid of wasting my time on 'phishing' expeditions. By the time I see her on video or even meet her in person if she's not who/what she says she is, that's a whole lot of time wasted.
Wouldn't it be awkward to come right out and say I would like to request a video chat? Lol.
I see your point lol. I don't know. I've never been catfished for an extended period of time that I know of. You could befriend someone women and see where it goes
They're not doing this "to meet an unrealistic beauty standard", they're doing it to appear exceptionally beautiful compared to the standard woman, and thereby SETTING unrealistic beauty standards. They are culprits, not victims.
It's sad really. The people who are beautiful who don't need to do the edits on themselves are often the most insecure and the most body focused

Since when are beauty standards supposed to be "realistic?" They're meant to be idealistic. Realism doesn't figure in at all. I'm not sure who decided that suddenly this is some huge problem.

Its just lies. People are goning to see your real body and they will just be put off because you were lying before they even met you.
Catfishes benefit from that trend the way the coronavirus benefits from irresponsible behaviour and lack of social distancing.
Yeah it's quite common to edit some are difficult to spot but not impossible

I prefer natural looks. No photoshop, no makeup etc
Stupid. False advertising in reality. If it makes you feel better to doctor your pics go for it. Seems stupid to me

@Bellaco yeah. It’s like touching up a car in the add and going to get it and it’s all scratched and dented.
No, I honestly cannot tell. Though if someone looks fake then they're usually less attractive to me.
Its dangerous and does nothing for lots of girls self confidence.
I fucken hate it.
I feel like women are the hugest culprits of this behavior.
It’s all thanks to them bitch ass kardashian family

I don't get it, seems like it's just something to cope with insecurities
Most model agencies are female dominated. So who's fault is that? Since we're playing the blame gender game here. Stop setting unrealistic standards.
When did I bring up gender?
photo shop has been around for a while. and it has only gotten better for the years.

Women already do this when they wear makeup, high heels, wigs, weaves, etc.
It perpetuates the problem: Unrealistic beauty standards
