Can a receding hairline actually stop receding?

19 yo guy here. Very bad hairline. Anyway, i aren’t twice to a trichologist ( in 2021 and this year ) and he told me both times that my hair isn’t receding: actually, i’ve got less hair on my frontal area, but they’re as thick as other hair.
Any opinions?

Almost all the men in my family are bald now, each had receding hairlines and just shaved all the hair off. Witnessing that, I don’t think receding stops, unfortunately. Have you considered hair follicle transplant? (Not sure if that’s what it’s actually called lol)

once yes, i considered it. It really depends on my future dating life. If balding will cause problems, i’ll probably consider products like propecia and minoxidil. An hair transplant would be kind of frustrating considering i’m not even 20 and people usually do it at least at 30 if not later. It’d leave scars on my head too and i’d probably look like a doll with those fake hair. Also, even in this case, hair products should be considered ( or transplanted hair will fall out ), but erectile disfunction is one of the side effects.

Oh man, that doesn’t sound positive at all. Well hey you’re not alone, my cousin started receding at 16, I just think genetics play a role, especially if you have it on both sides of the family. If it makes you feel better, being bald or a receding hairline has never been an issue for myself or any girlfriend of mine. It’s just such a small detail that I think is a bigger deal for you since you notice it so pointedly.

Mine started receding during my teen years, but it quit after I stopped wearing a baseball cap all the time. now it's receding again at 42, but I think it's because I was drinking and partying too much for a while. Either way it still doesn't bother me because I grew up around guys who were completely bald. I'm just happy to have some hair left, lol.
