Hey everyone so I lost all my teeth back in October due to bad decay and infections. I currently wear dentures and I just feel ugly for the fact that I wear dentures.
How can I convince myself that I am still pretty though I need dentures?
It doesn't help at night with the fact that I need to remove my dentures.. ☹️
By pretending you believe you are pretty. All you're doing right now is getting emotionally involved with what you see and that is controlling you consciousness. That's why people like to dress nice. However, you can control you consciousness regardless of the outside. You do that by making use of your higher mental faculties. You do it until it becomes a habit and then you won't need to consciously do it anymore; it'll happen on its own. If you keep feeling that you are ugly though, you won't change the part of you where your beliefs reside. You have to control your thinking. You can think anything you want. Your belief system will accept anything you give to it. Nothing is ridiculous, all things are possible to your belief system. It will accept whatever you give to it; it doesn't matter rather it is real or the truth. Attitude is conscious awareness of what is being accepted by your belief system. So if you're getting emotional about what you dont want... Your nervous system is believing in that. That's why movies are so great. But if you keep doing that you'll create a belief that you're not pretty.
Belief does not require logic. It can be built without logic. Repetition is how beliefs are created. They are also created, much faster, by an emotional impact ( which is usually negative)
There is information you may need to know when dealing with others but I think that's enough info to get you started.
i envy you. i wish i wore dentures. you know how sick and tired i am of dealing with cavities and fillings and having dentists claim i need rootcanals which isn't true. and dentists contradict each other. i really envy you and wish i wore dentures just so i can avoid dealing with cavity fillings
If you heal up eventually you can get implants. So make it your goal. I understand the need to feel pretty but in the end if you aren’t happy with the way you look as you are then you’ll never be happy. Acceptance of the way you look as you are is the first step in feeling better. The second step is to stop comparing yourself to other and other standards of beauty. Which means you have to stop putting yourself down for the way you look. If you can do these things then it won’t matter what you look like. The more you call attention to the way you look the more attention you draw to it.
