It has been established that some women dress for attention with low cut shirts and short shorts. However, some women dress for confidence and elegance. So, when do you put a label on it?
I love dressing up with heels, dresses, and matching purses. Even though im just going grocery shopping or shopping in general. I wanna wear pretty dresses that I bought, as I have no special occasions coming up. Of course, it feels good to be complimented on my outfits, but it is not needed. Not everyone wants to wear casual clothes. Plus, if u look better, u feel better. I would wear all these clothes out in public. Is this considered “attention-seeking?”
What you're specifically doing is not "attention-seeking" the idea that women dress up for men's attention is this old idea that comes from the boomer generation and the generation before that. I have this co-worker who's pushing 70, good guy, hard worker, but he still holds onto some of these ideas. I think the original intention of that kind of thing was to appreciate the beauty women made of themselves rather than what they are. Meaning appreciating the work that goes into beauty itself, but it turned into this idea that women are doing all of it in the hopes of nabbing a man to marry, to fuck, to whatever with, twisted by sexism that says men should be at the center of everything and women should be subservient.
I don't believe that women wear outfits to seek attention, if I wear something I like and get complimented on it, that's awesome. But even if I put no effort into something and still get a compliment I love that too. Seeking positive attention is not necessarily a bad thing, but the idea that women dress for the attention of heterosexual men is something we really need to get rid of, especially as adults moving into a modern more egalitarian world.
Those look more dressy/classy. Attention seeking would be crop tops (which I’m guilty of loving), mini skirts, booty shorts, see through shirts, bikinis outside of the beach and stuff like that. But guys do it too when they wear certain vnecks, tight fitting compression stuff outside of a workout, gray sweatpants with no underwear, or if they find any reason to go shirtless like saying its too hot out buts its 40 degrees... 🤣 Attention seeking is more so a problem if the person has a boyfriend/girlfriend and still dresses this way when he/she is not around.
There is nothing wrong with feeling good about yourself and wearing flattering clothing. That's not attention seeking.
What's wrong with a woman having her hair done nicely, caring for her skin and nails, or wearing attractive clothing? It's feminine to look pretty.
I would certainly look twice at a woman dressed as in those photos. But I also picture a female lawyer in a tight, pencil skirt and heels, or a revealing dinner gown. I don't even have a problem with casual shorts or crop tops. I would just say that she looks good. But is looking good the same as attention seeking? Maybe, but so what? Again, why shouldn't a confident woman want to look good?
I think attention seeking would be wearing things that are overly revealing or intentionally provocative. But even then I don't see a problem, as long as she doesn't look like a street walker.

I don't believe that any specific outfit is, by its nature, attention seeking until the wearer intends for it to seek attention. The other problem is that just because Bob and Sue see Jen in something and they think that Jen is attention seeking doesn't mean that it is.
But, to answer your title question I think that an outfit might become attention seeking if its goal is to say: "look at this part of my body!" or "look at me!".

Personally, outfits can only be attention seeking if they're showing under garments, or not appropriate for the setting (wearing a miniskirt to a symphony, or hot pants to a funeral). What really flags someone as attention seeking to me is how they're using their body language.
Someone who walks around normally in a revealing outfit to me is just flirty or playful. They're not seeking attention, they're projecting their confidence.
Someone who walk in exaggerated manners, make over the top gestures ( leaning forward and pressing their arms together to create cleavage, making 'oh my' gestures, bending all the way over without bending at the knees) is attention-seeking though.

Yes, exactly. Bigger breasted women just can't wear whatever they want, I mean we could, but it would look a lot more sexual on us then on a smaller breasted woman.
I really dont know... for this things im like a crave man but I must say that (at least in my Uni) women nowadays look amazing with a lot of different clothes. I must say that what I love the most are dresses and skirts but anything can be attention-seeking. My sister is gorgeous and its not due to herself (she is pretty but its not that important) but because she knows how to dress and has even a fashion instagram. I should ask her about this matter, its very interesting.
It's interesting because I'll think a woman is an attention seeker if she's wearing practically nothing/something very revealing but I'd think a woman wearing a nice dress just has good fashion taste unless she looks ridiculously over-dressed, then I'd think it's a bit excessive. I'm talking prom night dress to the grocery store level.
I’m not so sure this is a bad thing. As a man I look for any excuse to wear a suit. The world simply treats a man better in a well tailored suit. The difference, of course, is that a woman’s appearance can range from so many different perceptions. Cute to professional to sexy to provocative to conservative and the reality is some women are so strikingly beautiful anything she wears is going to be attractive from gym clothes to jeans & a t-shirt to a cocktail dress. Also, where you live can be a factor. In NYC or L. A. you can be a lot more individualistic in your appearance than maybe a small town or community somewhere, where there is a more narrow bandwidth for what’s acceptable.
Dress for YOU. Obviously it’s best to have enough awareness to not be too flashy in the wrong environment. Sometimes unwanted attention can be a bad thing but otherwise just own it and you be you.
its all subjective, people can call a nun attention seeking, only the person will know why they are doing it but anything revealing i guess, if they are looking for validation then they are seeking attention
Same here. To me these are some nice and classy outfits. Maybe the last one is too short for my tamte but it's alright. They make you stand out but in a good way. Attention-seeking is when a woman is wearing something extremely revealing and/or behaving loudly. Do what makes you feel good, live for yourself. Some people are simply envious.
All I know is hookers dress a certain way. You can look up these youtube videos where the guy just films from the car driving around and you'll see it for yourself. With that said, I'm going to place my chips on when it doesn't serve a function other than getting attention.
For example, if we're going on a 9-mile hike through the woods, dressing like a hooker with high heels is going to look very, very retarded. Once it isn't serving a function, it's probably just for attention.
In a way any clothing worn with the goal of how other view it could be seen as attention seeking, but I think that is usually applied to clothing that is unusual in the situation and visually striking.
I don't see anything wrong with that, nothing wrong with wanting attention. Just be aware that clothing is a form of communication, a way to make a statement about yourself, so be sure you are making the statement you want to make

The setting rlly is important. I remember i was going to participate in a wedding with my boyfriend. Along the way, we saw a car show happening. I refused to get out of the car bc i was in full face makeup, heels, and black and white dress 🥲 i was too anxious. Boyfriend got to see the cars tho 😂
Usually, the people that accuse others of being attention seeking are those that are desperate for attention themselves. Most of the time it stems from jealousy.
IMHO, an outfit is attention getting if it over-emphasizes one or more parts of your body. A pretty dress is just that, be comfortable wearing it, and if it catches some guy's eyes, know that it's you, not the dress, he's looking at.

That confidence from dressing a certain way is because you are getting attention. The only way someone isn't dressing for attention is if they have to follow a dress code. If you don't wear it at home by yourself and you dress differently when you go out then that means it is for attention.
i am so extreme, no mini skirt nor low cut seems to indicate a seeker. it is all just clothing. the only attention seeker i would consider a seeker, which is a flaw, is a loud person shouting yelling that is seeker and shows flaws.
I think if you were to wear a crop top and short shorts say to church that would be attention seeking. If you wore the same outfit to a beach it's still attention seeking but appropriate for the setting.
Yea i think i packed a lot of dresses for a cruise ship i went to. didn't wear most of them. The wind be harassing. I remembered i was working out on the ship.
