I often donate things to thrift stores. Anyway, yes, there are certain things I’ll buy from stores (i. e. shirts and pants). Like you, I’d never purchase underwear or shoes from thrift stores.
I used to go to a lot of them when I was a kid with my mom because we couldn’t afford new clothes or stuff but now you can find hidden treasures sometimes

Some are nasty. I have been to some where people have let their kids urinate in a bowl in housewares and then left it on the shelf.
I like em. I've found some great stuff for cheap.
I usually get jeans, jackets/sweaters, and home decor from the thrift shops.

A lot of my items are from thrift stores, vintage stores, etc. I have 1920s, 1940s, 1950s, and 60s items that look brand new.
