Get his attention. It looks hard for girls to communicate with the opposite sex. Especially when you want to take the first step. We all think that guys should take the first step. But we miss lots of opportunities by thinking so. So don't always expect it from guys.

Observe the guy that you like. Who knows, maybe he is expecting you to approach him first. But you don't know how to take the first step. But it is time to take action anymore.

If you see him quite often, say hi with a smile on your face when you come across with him. That's the first step.

If you live at the same apartment, then it willbe easier for you. Treat him with delicious foods. Show how talented you are when it comes to cooking. Guys like girls who are good at cooking.

Ask for help. It works everytime. It may be a good opportunity to start a conversation. You can also give some signs that you like him through this conversations. Just compliment!

This is pretty true. I'm the sort of guy who tries to be straight forward with guys or girls. I don't chase girls almost ever. If one asked me to look at her computer, unless she gave extremely obvious signs, I'm going to fix her computer and go about my business. If I get asked to do something, it isn't usually an invitation to talk a bunch or flirt. Usually I'd stick to casual talking if it did happen. 95% of girls I find almost never approach guys. If more did, maybe relationships would work better. It's about time girls gave some guys attention and went for them. It's also a good way to indicate to guys that are perverted/abusive/dangerous that would directly approach women that you aren't interested. In all, it's like a two in one benefit. You can get to know the guys that seem ok AND deflect ones that are an absolute no. That's how I see it. But use this advice with caution. I'd go for smart/quiet/intellectual guys that have a good balance of not pushing you away like an asshole but not going out of their way to harass you.

Asking for help definitely works. I'd love helping anyone, I'm the guy to call when you're moving, but this is especially true with girls. I got the whole protective/alpha male complex, I'm not the jealous type or controlling, but anyways, I'd love to help a girl with any problem she came to me with. Fixing stuff is like a drug.

Well I was that girl that started a conversation with a guy I had a big crush on. And to be honest I feel like it didn't work. I dont know if i went about it wrong but it seems like he didn't get the picture that I liked him or he just didn't like me.

Because I thought starting the convo first would help relieve the guy of shyness to make it easy for him to talk to me if he did like me.

To make a long story short, guys can be as complicating to read just like they feel its hard to read women.

Be honest!
If you like someone, tell them you like them and that you're interested and why. If they're interested they'll respond, if they're not then they won't.
All I'd really strongly recommend is that you don't approach people like this that you barely know because it's very strange for people to be seriously interested in people they've had little interaction with, if you're stuck at this stage then spend more time with them and get to know them.

Doesn't matter the subject of the conversation. As long as it shows that you care enough about us to go talk to us. It might be our opinion on something or just hey I didn't know you liked this it really doesn't matter at all because if you show him that you care just a little bit if he likes you back he'll respond good and stuff. Basically just try, and if you don't well maybe you missed something!

Do you know how many missed chances had to speak to some girls but never did because I was afraid or bothering them or looking like a douche.

Usually, the best way to get a conversation from someone you like is to make them talk about themselves. Not only would they feel comfortable but you can learn more about that person. Don't forget to open up a little too!
