My crush told me he thinks he will be single forever!?

Today my crush and I was talking and he asked what is my type, I said I don't have a type. He said me too. Then all of the sudden he goes "I think I will be single for life. I can't never have a bae" (I didn't know he's single til that point). He told me he had about 7 exes (we're 18 now), but is single for more than a year. What does this mean? What now? He's single! but he thinks he's single for life... :/

Him asking you what your type was is one way he was feeling you out. He was hoping you would describe someone like him. The other was him saying he would be single forever. Since he has already had so many girlfriends, he doesn't honestly believe this. He was leaving it open for you to respond in a way that showed him you wanted to be with him. Guys don't understand women's hints. You have to be straight up with them. Women make the mistake of hinting, saying the opposite of how they really think/feel and making assumptions about what men think. That's what confuses them. Be straight up and there will be a lot less confusion/misunderstanding. You should tell him that you like him.
