Guys, how can you get a guy to call and FaceTime you, instead of text you?

I really lik this guy and he seems to like me back. We have even planned a date already. But we always seem to be texting each other and I kinda want to talk to him on the phone or facetime him. I know that he facetimes other people and his best friend that is a girl. How can I get him to start facetiming me without sounding creepy?

My top choices for this...
1.) Group Projects -- get in a group project and try to work with him. Be like "oh, it'd be easier if we just talk on the phone." Then you can slowly change the conversation to fun things that are not school related.
2.) Show and Tell -- Find something that is cool or interesting that he would like and be like "hey can I facetime you? You gotta see this!" Only do this if you are pretty good friends already.

3.) Simply asking -- I personally (and many guys) wouldn't find it creepy if a girl asked to facetime to hang out, especially if I knew this girl well enough to have a date planned. Just ask casually, and don't say anything negative about yourself like "It's ok if you don't want to." Be confident and calm about it. He'll either say yes or no. If he says no, don't read into it. He either could be busy or just can't facetime where he is.
