Does he want something more or is he just taking our flirtationship to the next level?

My best friend and I have a platonic flirtationship and I've always been single but he's always been in a relationship with different girls. Last week a group of my friends were supposed to get together to study, but everybody cancelled last minute except for him, so we ended up watching a movie. Before we started watching I cooked food and while I was waiting for it to cook, I sat on the counter and he stood in front of me and started teasing me and jokingly coming in for a kiss, very well knowing I would get uncomfortable and lean back. When the movie started he put his arm around me, held my hand and pulled me closer, but did nothing else, not even look at me. Once the movie finished he had to go to work and leave then or he wouldn't make it on time, and his boss is very strict. Before he left he asked for a kiss on the cheek and I said no and then he said he wouldn't leave until I did. I totally thought he was bluffing, but 5 minutes later he was still there. I finally gave in and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. Then he said it was too fast and he wanted a better one. A minute later I reluctantly gave in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Afterwards, he insisted I even it out and kiss him on the other cheek. I did because I didn't want to make him later to work than he already was. When he was saying goodbye, he pulled me in for a long hug (2 min at least). All the while I insisted he get to work and he kept saying that he didn't care, but eventually he got in his car and he left. Like I said before, we've always had a flirtationship, but it was always verbal joking about how we were soul mates and how we would make the best couple and he would joke that he wanted me but I friend zoned him, but never any physical flirting. We've been like this for about 6 years and my friends have wanted us to be a couple since they first saw us together (way after me and him met). Does he want something more, or does he just want to take our flirtationship to the next level?

this is kind of next level in your flirtationship, i guess he is nothing serious in it. its been 6 long years may be things got a little changed. he does want something more but still he doesn't want to be in a relationship i guess.
