Why Do Girls Ignore Texts/Facebook Messages Sometimes?

Basically, I am developing light feelings for a girl, we're friends and I usually message her either via FB message or text weekly about how her life is going, etc.

I really care about her, but I find it annoying that she doesn't respond sometimes (even though there's usually a week in between).

I was wondering why girls do this.

They either do it because they're not that interested or to play mind games. It is hard to tell which they are doing so if they ignore me once or twice I stop talking to them unless they contact me. If I get the feeling they are playing mind games I will not talk to them even if they do contact me again though. I hate mind games!

I agree with olivia. If someone I'm not interested messages or texts me, in the beginning id reply some to be nice but if they start doing it on a regular basis I get annoyed and don't reply so I can't be leading them on.

Maybe try not doing it so regularly. and talk to her in person! haha
