Does it mean anything when a guy walks you to your car and hugs you?

A new friend of mine walked me to my car then hugged me goodbye which he has never done. Usually we just talk, and I've never seen him hug any other female friends. But does this mean anything? Is he just being friendly or what?

If it's a first time thing then it could definitley mean that he's trying to move the realtioship forward/ more serious, that being said he's probably waiting for the go ahead, like for you to give a signal that you like him before he tries anything that might make him look stupid

He's probably just being friendly. A hug is nothing.
