Does Smiling/Eye Contact Signal To Guys We’re Interested?

Long story short, I went to a hookah lounge with a couple of friends and my cousin (older male). The guy working there was really cute and even one of my friends noticed he kept staring at me, and coming by our table to talk. He also gave us free hookah lol!

Out of respect (ME culture!), he couldn’t ask for my number or anything while my cousin was there. I really wanted him to know I was interested, so I kept smiling at him and making eye contact. I even got up at one point to ask him something.

When we left, he asked my cousin for his number just to be friends I guess.

Do you think I did enough to show him I’m interested? :(

It's possible he wants to be friends with your cousin to have a social way to reconnect with you another time. It depends how motivated he is.

It might be enough to make him see you are interested. More overt (usually unconscious) signs of interest are playing with your hair and copying his gestures or body language. If a woman is very interested in a guy, she might lick or biting her lip or touch his arm or leg without realizing it.

It's a "party/hangout" you are supposed to smile and have a good time. Wouldn't tell him much of anything.

For a woman it's super easy to just approach a dude. No hassle with harassment cases and most guys would really love that, even if they have to say no.

Women on the otherhand will call any guy they don't like creepy or needy or etc. So guys usually find it waste of time to approach women for some few vague hints.

A lot of guys just approach 20 different women in a row, until one catches. Not aim at a specific woman they saw for few moments, never to be seen again.

He might ask more info from the guy, on you or some other girl, or maybe he is into dudes, who knows.

Moral of the story. Approach the guy, as a woman all the odds are in your favor, with no real downsides.

I think you need to do more , sometimes guys are slow , organise to go back specially , just walk up to him discreetly hand your number , say hey " just wanted to say thanks for the freebe the other night , Id really like to hear from you " ...

This is not ethical my friend, imagine that a guy gave his male friend a girls number. There was no permission. I gave a girls number to a friend once and the consequence was bad.
