This weekend was a retirement party at a nearby bar for a manager. I went cause I had no real excuse not too but as expected it was the longtime staff keeping in their clique then me. Im newer so I don't go to these events often. A girl hired 2 months ago also showed up and started talking to me since she was also out of the group. It started as us joking about how we are never going be part of the crew etc. Once small talk became about where we moved from to work in the company she started touching my leg and scooting her bar seat closer to me. I ignored it until I got a little buzzed myself then tried to rest my hand on her hip to see if she resisted. She reciprocated with resting her head on my pec and hugging me. I didn't go farther since she was 3 drinks in and I wanted to avoid a drunk night where I get in trouble from HR lol. However if she flirts when sober at work should I catch her as she is leaving and ask her if she wants to go out to dinner/for coffee? Should I avoid work relationships altogether?
Superb Opinion
Don't crap where you eat. Work is coworkers. Don't get mixed up. If your company has 5000 female workers, They are excluded from the date pool. That is not unreasonable. I have seen messy disasters at work and the guy usually gets burned in this day and age. Be smart about this.

I am one to say avoid work relationships. Although never had one, I cannot imagine the awkwardness after a fight or worse, breakup.
