A hug from guys I just met

Does guys initiating hugs right after you JUST met mean anything? It's happened to me at least 3 times just in the past few months - including from the guy I currently like. He was the one who had both started talking with me first and he actually ASKED for a hug within like a minute of meeting me. My mom says that guys hug me all the time because of my chest - it's a good size especially compared to my waist [which is small.] But I almost never wear low tops - maybe kinda tight ones though.

hugs can be pretty meaningless these days, from a guy to a girl and vice versa they can be the equivilent of a handshake. your mother may also be right (especially if they are asking for a hug after just meeting you) but as long as they aren't trying to feel you up then I wouldn't worry about it too much. as you get older you'll be able to tell the difference between a meaningful hug and a platonic one.

It depends on the guy; what else can you tell us about them? I would personally only give hugs to girls I was interested in dating and to close friends, but I know guys who give out hugs as if they were handshakes, too.

Very true, but I can't imagine a guy ASKING for a handshake like the guy I like asked for a hug when he met me...also he seemed nervous during that time, and I was the only one around. what I'm wondering now is if he's still interested in me [see my "does he like me?" question.]

There was one time that I asked for a hug when I was younger, and it was to a girl that I liked at the time. I wanted to hug her personally but I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable and awkward (though asking for a hug is awkward in itself), so if we think anything alike chances are this guy was just looking out for your feelings and might be open to making something with you after all.

Haha he probably didn't want to look like a creep and just go out and hug me when he doesn't even know me...though I've had a couple of random guys just hug me without asking. and thanks for the advice!

I would say that they atelast want to become closer to you like either as a friend or even possibly as a potential gf.

But I mean is it an indication that the guy is physically attractive to me or do some guys just do that to random people they all of a sudden just met?

though this hasn't usually happened to me that much anymore, but I can now usually tell instantly if a guy's into me or not especially by the way he looks at me.

I can't really speak for other guys but for me and my friends. guys usually don't initiate hugs as just a casual gesture(however if he seems to hug a lot od girls around him they maybe he does) unless they are at least somewhat attracted or interested in the girl, he may not be scouting you to be a girlfriend but maybe he just thought you were cute and wanted soem physical contact (contrary to popular belief guys do get enjoyment out of non-sexual contact).

It depends on the people...Some of my ladyfriends won't hug a guy, but others hug all the time. But I generally don'thug a girl when I first meet her...
