Mixed signals: I'm interested in this guy, but I am not sure if he feels the same way since he rarely texts or calls, what should I do next?

This guy is helping my family with a business since he is good at it. At first, they wanted to set me up with him.

I'm going to be honest here, I am interested in this guy but he only texts once a couple of weeks to inform us about the business related stuff. And he prefers to talk to my dad about it instead of me. We never really talked about something outside of work related stuff. This guy rarely texts me first, if he does it's going to be some work related stuff. We never talked anything else outside of work related.

I'm not sure about his intentions. Once he asked my dad about my whereabouts since I didn't reply to his text the entire day. He asked my dad if he can talk to me on text messages sometimes. He also asked my dad whether I am at home or going out. Then my dad told me that this guy wants me to be his girlfriend. Should I even believe my dad?

He only texts once in a few weeks to talk about some business or work. What can I do to make him more interested outside of work stuff?

How about you text him and see you're not going to believe what my dad said, he said that you want me to be your girlfriend lol and see what his response is
