What can I do to reconnect with an old guy friend?

I met this guy in preschool and were really great friends for a very long time! but I moved away when I was from where he lives and now we rarely see each other. our moms are still good friends but I haven't seen him in like 2 years and I want to get together and hang out! I messaged him over fb and he's like sure! but how do I know he really means that and wants to hang out?
