Why do guys act so nonchalant when women give them attention?

I understand guys send sweet texts, virtual or real flowers, even calls during the day to see how we're doing, to get my attention. However, when I show interest and give that attention back...it takes forever to return a text, forever to return a call and those sweet texts turn into 'I'm good' or 'Yea, my day is fine'. But let me take forever to return a call or text...my phone is ringing off the hook and I'm getting 15 'WHERE ARE YOU?' texts. We give you the attention and it seems guys take it for granted. We stop giving you the attention and guys go crazy making statements like 'Oh, so you don't like me anymore'. Don't men know, when you ignore a woman...we'll find someone else who will give us attention? What gives?

I would say you are generalizing too much. Women often do the very same thing. They can be dating several guys at once and just not find the time to respond.

I always love to get some attention back. It lets me know that I am not out there all alone, and if I am interested in moving the relationship further along, it encourages me to do so. I would not ignore a woman I really cared about for the very same reason you give- that she might believe I am not all that interested, and find someone who will appreciate her.
