How do you go up to a guy you find cute and start a conversation?

Ok so I'm in engineering and have a discussion class with this one guy who I think is cute. He's not your typical "hot frat boy" but cute in a more nerdy way. Anyways, we live pretty close to each other (I know bc I saw him walk out of his dorm hall as I was walking back to mine) and so we end up seeing each other a lot around campus. Usually I look at him and he looks back and we have a moment of shared eye contact lol. Happened 4 times today, in the dining hall he looked back at me twice. In discussion class we always always make eye contact. I AM NOT SAYING "oh he must like me!!". I'm just saying, I love to make eye contact with people and it makes me more attracted to him.

He's so cute and very smart, and I want to talk to him because hey, you only live once y'know. But I don't know how to do it without sounding weird or obvious. I feel like asking about the class would be best but I feel like whatever I say will make me sound desperate. In discussion class he always has his friends around so I don't really want to talk to him there. And I'm also fairly shy so it's like difficult for me. Do guys even like when you come up and talk to them? LMAO this is more of a rant but any advice? Maybe?

I'll tell you what I do. Once I determine he is not the type brag to his friends how that silly Adaeva likes and laughs about it, I don't worry about it. Moreover, that kind of guy is extremely rare but it does happen, so far not to me but to a girl I know. A guy she liked asked her, "What are you doing Saturday?"

"I don't have any plans."

"Well, too bad."

When she told me, it gave me a slow burn. Obviously something like that will not be the the guy you described.

I would say, "Hi," then follow up with, "Can you walk to class with me?" "Want to have lunch with me?" "Can we talk for a bit?" I don't mind if he knows I like even if it is not returned because he doesn't mind and he is not going to use it against me.

I think suppose, I meet the Korean movie star that I have crush on? He knows I like him. He know all the the girls like him and he likes it. And, him knowing doesn't harm me. or any of the girls. I would just be thrilled that I got to meet him. Is that not a similar situation? And, it is possible, he might actually spend some time with me, kind of like a date.

Therefore, if he knows and it is not returned, he is pleased but he is not going to embarrass you by telling others. Therefore, if the worse case is that you are not harmed in any way or embarrassed by him telling others (not that it would even matter), and you learn that he is not available to you, please tell me how is not a good thing to not be harmed and to learn whether he is or is not interested.

Just walk up to him and start talking. Shortly after I started going to college, I was sitting on a bench outside the gym building tying my shoe. I was going to my next class, at the time. Next thing I know, this gorgeous hunk of woman comes right up to me with a huge smile and says, "Hi! My name's Jennifer! I've been wanting to meet you for a while! I saw you in the lunch room a few times and thought you were a really neat guy!". We became VERY close friends! I even had her at my house once for a swim and we went skinny dipping together.
Round about the same time, I was in my music history class sitting by myself in the back of the room, it was the first class of the semester and, about 2:00 into the class, the door opens and this girl in darkened glasses walks in, spots me and zips right over to sit next to me and and says, "As soon as I saw you, I knew you were someone I wanted to get to know better.". We got to be good friends for a couple years. she even invited me to see her at work. She's a stripper.
A few years later, I was in Electronic Music class and sat 2 seats away from this rather small girl. At one point, we needed to take notes and I had nothing to do that with. I asked her if she could afford me some. She did and, before the class was over, she turned to me, put out her hand, smiled and said, "Hi! My name's Kelly, what's yours?", and, we've been very close friends, ever since. And, she is PAINFULLY shy and introverted!

In short, we always like when the girl take the leap to meet us. We know how you feel as it is often the guy that is suppose to approach and say hi. So that would be commendable.

Maybe keep your eye open when you are walking by his dorm again and see if you can time walking back to class or the dining hall. Ask him if he minds you walking together, it's a great way to break the ice and you just "happen" to be walking the same way. So it looks a little like fate working in both your favor.

You think he's smart, so he must have said things that impressed you. Just go up to him after class and say "I was impressed with the answer you gave in class today." Guys generally prefer being noticed for what they say or do rather than how they look. If he's part of a study group, ask if you can join the group, as you want to be in a group with people who truly know what they are talking about. If he isn't in a study group ask if he'd be interested in starting one with you.

This girl went to work on me the first week we met. We sat next to one another. We had an assignment and she invited me over to her place. She offered me a drink but I declined because I don’t indulge, but me being the idiot I was didn’t clarify that. I think she took that as a rejection which it wasn’t necessarily so. Didn’t stop us from finishing the assignment.

We worked together up until graduation, even after she found another boyfriend with my same name. We were good friends. She had superb taste in her wardrobe.

Us Guys love to be Approached, But we can look like we are not interested when you do because we may not get Approached that often so just be polite and maybe ask for his help with something and talk about your doing or what's happening around, Just try not put him on the spot or make him standout from the crowd because more than likely not that Confident either.

What you do is you go up and you say “sup” then you dap him up. If you’ve done the first step correctly he’ll most likely reply with “whaddap dawg” and you can make your way to step 2. If he’s a sports ball guy just say “catch the game last night?” You don’t have to know much about sports if you’re not familiar. Use stock phrases like “brutal game” and “hopefully they can go all the way” this should cover all the bases from the playoffs and the superbowl. Hope this helps!
