It's pretty simple. Usually it's just two couples going to the same place together, talking to each other, and usually, I've found, that conversation is a little more smooth. At least in places where there would be talking, like say a restaurant or bar. The movies? Not so much. That one would more likely lead to the four of you watching a movie, and keeping quiet. Possibly one or both couples making out.
It's all pretty simple. Get together with your significant other, and then you and the other couple meet up somewhere and have fun. It doesn't need to be complicated. The most complicated thing is working out who pays for what. For the most part you work that out with your significant other, as to whether or not your significant other pays for everything, it's split between the two of you, or if one person pays for all four of you. I for one suggest that each couple pays for themselves and divie it up between themselves accordingly.
Money issues aside, it's just as simple as I said though. Just you and another couple having fun. So go out and have fun. I hope you enjoy yourself.
