Does it mean anything when a guy buddy you're close to puts his arm behind your seat?

I like this guy at work. We had a meeting with lots of people in d room so had to squeeze with other colleagues on the sofa. We are comfortable with each other and sat next to each other. Some time during the meeting when the boss was asking for volunteers to do something we nudged each others' ribs. Felt as if he was taking advantage to touch me. What I'm curious about is, the possibility of him liking me more than as a friend, what exactly goes through a guy's mind when you put your arms around the back of a girl's seat? Nothing? I'm over thinking this? Or is it sort of a claim in front of everyone in the room. I kinda think it's cute if it is. Lol

Back of the SEAT? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Every guy does that and most even do it with other guys. It is strictly a comfort thing...not flirting or a sign,

Now, if he put his hand on your back and not the chair, you would be getting somewhere. Even more so if he pulled you close or held you at all.

Unfortunately, the interaction you describe is not a sign that he likes you at all. In fact, I find it very hard to believe that the first move of any kind his dude makes would be at a company meeting with tons of people. He is just your friend. The good news is it seems like you have quite a good friend that you have fun with and those are hard to find...especially at work!

I have broad shoulders and it's uncomfortable to keep my hands down. When I'm driving I always throw it over my passenger seat or when I'm sitting down I'll always drape it over a chair or ledge. The only thing that would stop me is if I didn't know the person. I sometimes do it intentionally but I'll actually throw it over your shoulder if I'm trying to flirt.

We aren't saying he does not like you, we are just saying that the arm on the chair is not a sign of attraction or interest in you other then friends. If you like this dude, maybe you should say something? Lots of women have asked for a date after we have been just friends and it is normally really great!
