Guys can never tell if a girl is just being nice or flirting but if it's flipped around can girls?

Most guys can't tell when a girl is being flirty or is just be nice, it'll be something that plagues us till we die.

But I'm wondering, can girls tell when a guy is just being nice or if he's flirting with you? Do you think you mistake some things that are meant to be flirty as him just trying to be nice or vice versa.

And I'm not talking about when a guy comes up to you at the bar and says "you're looking good tonight...can I have your number", maybe an example is if its your birthday and a male friend says he wants to take you out at some point for a birthday dinner.

Most of the time we can't.

I have a guy friend, he's always doing nice things. With me for example, I have to go to football games for yearbook, and I am usually alone, so he offers to go to the games with me and during one of the games he gave me his jacket because I was freezing. I know he was being nice because he told me he's always nice and that he was just being nice. My 2 best friends who make me text them about every guy in my life and everything I do with them, they think he's flirting with me every time he's being nice, they think me saying "No, he's just being nice" is my lame excuse of being in denial.

Other guys that are nice to me I think they could be flirting with me because they don't say weather they are being nice or not, so I'm nice back in case they are just being nice.

lol that prooves it, since I've said " I always nice and that I'm just being nice" to girls I really liked several times, its a statement that lets him do something that shows he cares, without the awkwardness

ummmmmm YES guys confuse the crap out of me! Its so much easier to tell if a guy if into a friend of yours but personally I can't tell if a guy is flirting with my unless is blatantly obvious, I always think their just being friendly. However, once I know a guy is kinda into me it goes 50 50, with your birthday thing, if it was a guys I have been talking to for a while and kinda like I would take it as he kinda likes me but if it was a guy iv been friends with for like a year, He's just a friend. Its really subjective.

I think it depends on the girl, but for me I always err on the side of caution. If it's a situation like that, I assume nothing. I treat it like a friend thing but acknowledge the idea that it might be more to him. Guys confuse me, though. I think it's because guys always expect girls to be direct so a part of me thinks that if a guy likes me he will be direct and anything else means he does not. I'm not sure whether or not that is a wrong assumption.

I have to smacked in the face with a brick. I have a reputation for being very naive when it comes to anything dealing with guys. This guy was flirting with me for weeks apparently. I had no idea until he got drunk one night and texted me saying "you're cute I like you"

It really depend on the guy, some guys are just playful with a lot of girls and we take it as flirting. Most of the times we can't tell though :c

Usually I can't tell, it depends on the interaction seen with other ladies, if its similar throughout then there's a chance that he's either a nice guy or maybe a player.

I can never tell. But my friends always catch it when a guy is flirting with me. It think girls get caught up in the moment and they don't really think about it.

Usually I can. I'm really good at translating body language and verbal cues, so I can tell apart flirting from friendliness. MOST of the time.
