She said sorry for being so tied up lately. How should I respond?

So I've been getting quite a bit of interest from this girl, but I'm not sure if she's been playing hard to get.

Last Friday I texted her a funny joke, but she didn't reply until Sunday at around 2am. She played along with the joke.

Sunday afternoon I played along too, and she was replying quite quickly.

A couple of days later, I text her saying that I've been thinking about her beautiful smile lately, but I didn't get a reply yet she was tweeting on twitter quite a bit over the next day. I decided to make sure I looked happy and not appear bothered.

However, 10pm a day on since I sent the text, my friend tweeted something, so I retweeted it as a quote which was: "Tonight it's all about cutting ties, deleting people” Me too, keep those who are worth it ? (the second part being me)

The girl I like then texted me a minute after saying "I'm sorry babe I've been so tied up lately. Hope you're okay (with a lips/kiss icon)" even though I was in directing the tweet at a few people.

I'm not sure what to reply to this.. Part of me feels she might be in it for the attention and that me "cutting ties" would have meant her.

However, she has been really busy lately after acquiring a second job (seen enough to warrant this as truthful)

What should I reply back? Or, should I ignore this and wait for her to initiate again? She wants us to do FaceTime before we meet, but she has been busy with working etc, I thought it was an excuse but she suggested an alternate day (but I left it too late that day, she ended up getting other plans).

Those (you) that have much time on their hands, looking for a playmate (her) have too much time to over think what-ifs. If this is always to be, i. e. you always with extra time & her w/o a minute to spare, then it's just not going to work, no matter about these theories of concern you write.
If you feel that things will even out time-wise on both sides, then pursue it w/o thinking about it.

Some gals are temporarily busy/over worked
Other gals are permanently that way, so after one double booking crises, they book another like a junkie - some find this less lonely, feeling more important, whatever caffeine there is in all that

Maybe you find something else to do to kill time until she gets free, THEN see if she's got time for you OR off to another crises.

You are over analyzing everything waaaayyyyy too much. Just tell her its no big deal,but that your definitely looking forward to having some time with her.

Well that complicates everything now doesn't it? First, accept the apology, though I don't know if you should do that publicly, that's your call, then follow up by either thanking her for explaining herself or by detracting and distracting bringing up something else altogether continuing as normal.

Well she suggested FaceTime before we meet as we haven't met.. But I was suggesting it when she had a hectic week of work, she did suggest an alternate day which was last Friday but I contacted her too late so she already made other plans.

I was going to say that I've been busy too and that she can make it up to me by doing FaceTime. Not sure if she's keeping me on a string until something better comes along though.

Just ask her directly to do FaceTime. It's easier than subliminal messaging.

So like "you're going to do FaceTime with me" rather than ask it as a question? I always learned to make statements to a girl than questions, I.e on a date. Does it sound like she is playing hard to get? I left it over a day to reply, but I've probably encouraged more games.

I was tempted to accept her apology and tell her to text me when it's best to do FaceTime, only because I don't have access to wifi until next Wednesday!

If you believe she is playing games and she has already shown this level of negligence you'd be wasting your time. If you believe she is being genuine and not attempting to play games then follow through with your own plan. I can say nothing on what she is or is not doing as I lack strong behavioral history.
