Do girls "fake flirting" very often, just to get control over a guy's emotions?

Or am I just being paranoid and should accept flirting for what it is: an opportunity to have a little intimacy with a guy they like? 'Cause I've heard women say girls flirt all the time just to build their ego, even if they have no interest in the guy, and they'll pretend to flirt just to get control over his emotions.

But if they're flirting at all, even if it's just for fun, doesn't it kind of imply she she's interested enough in him to care what he thinks about her?

I'm not in tune with flirting but have been accused of it my whole life. I think girls are just nice and smiley to everyone. Maybe more so if she finds the guy attractive but I wouldn't have a clue how to fake flirt. I could fake coy but not flirting. I also read a study on attraction a few years back that said women will pretend to be more interested in men than they actually are and men will assume women are more interested in them than they actually are.

If she's straight out with the innuendo or groping then yeah it's intentional.

On the other hand I've never met a woman who took offense to having a man wrapped around her little finger.

I know that I've been told I'm a natural flirt. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm flirting until guys start to like me or until my friends tease me. It's accidental and I always feel very guilty for making a guy think I might like him. That being said, when I think about the guys who I've unintentionally flirted with, I was attracted to them, but I was only attracted to them. I wasn't looking for a date or a relationship or anything like that.

Guys can be natural flirts too.

No, I'd say it's very rare for girls to fake flirting, at least if they're not into you the slightest. I'd be bored of flirting with someone if I wasn't interested in them at all. Yes, sometimes we do flirt for fun, but I don't know many girls who use it as some kind of weapon.

"Weapon"...good analogy. In a sense it is a weapon, just a weapon to spread confusion and excitement. I HAVE heard that women will exaggerate interest, but I doubt they'd bother if he was completely repellent or boring.

SOME women might exaggerate, but most don't. Otherwise, yes, I doubt anyone would bother flirting with someone if they weren't interested on some level. Only reasons they'd do that is if 1. they're extremely bored or 2. they're out to manipulate you.

Not the attention whores and they are the ones that fake flirt. And there are a lot of attention whores in this world. A lot.

Flirting isn't really a big deal. Just because someone flirts with you doesn't mean they want to marry you. At the very least we're flirting because you're cute

Most women care what everyone thinks about them. They are very sensitive and social creatures connected to everyone in their way. They are also insecure and scared. They need a lot of reassurance and love. So they "steal it" if they aren't receiving it as a present.

Some flirt to manipulate you into something other than complimenting her with your attention, but not as often.

Flirting to get control over someone's emotions? I am not even sure how that would work. I would say that if the flirting is continuous it is because she cares about what he thinks about her, but if it was a one time thing...I wouldn't think too far into it.

Overall it depends on the girl. At some point, she doesn't even know that she's flirting in the first place because some people take it the wrong way. In other situations, she's purposely flirting to get your attention and in some cases, just for their ego. And most likely yes, if they flirt with you for fun, it does imply to what you think about her as well (: but that's just all in my opinion ! And it also depends on how you approach her as well, and vice versa

I've flirted for free drinks and attention. Just be careful, most girls will tease you but it's just play. If you feed it directly she will lose interest in any sexual or romantic actions. Feed her gradually and she will keep comin back. No girl will ever flirt to "play with you emotions", some are just careless and don't realize they may end up hurting you.

It seems some guys mistake a girl smiling or laughing or being nice or even just having a conversation with them as flirting. But that's not really true flirting. A girl is Not flirting for real unless she actually makes ANY physical contact With You. Just smiling at you while you are talking is being friendly, not flirting.

I'm sure some girls do. Just out of the attention factor alone. Some girls may even come off as being "flirtatious" without the intentions of it and some guys take it the wrong way, so it really all depends on the girl.
