Why do most girls like "pretty boys"?

Why is this? It seems like most girls will chose a short- haired lesbian looking guy from one direction, over a guy that that looks more manly and mature. I see this all the time so I'm just curious :) Does your taste in guys change after teen years?

I don't think I've ever dated a 'pretty boy' before. Where does this lingering stereotype come from? Give me Aragon over Legolas. Give me Hans Solo over Luke Skywalker. Give me Robert Downey Jr. over Robert Patterson. Hell, Give me Thor over Loki.

Everyone's tastes are different. I don't find a single member of 1D attractive yet there are millions of girls all around the world, of all age groups who do- it's not a matter of age or maturity it's just a matter tastes, for instance

Turn on's
-facial hair
-stubble
-dark hair
-athletic
-tall
-simple dress sense

Turn off's
-short (although I've dated men shorter than me)
-clean cut
-hair products (worst thing going to touch a guys hair and it's all gelified)
-dresses better than me

Well , I dated one pretty boy. Like he literally had girl moose in his bag. He was a player cause of his looks. Now I'm talking to an advantage guy who looks okay , but is my type now tattoos & such :P lol so it does change for girls. But just saying most girls go in the " bad boy" when young.

I guess I fall into that category. I like guys to look clean and well-dressed, preferably a nice to look at face. I personally think Zayn Malik (from one direction) is one of the hottest guys ever, for specifically those reasons. I don't think they look like lesbians lol.

I can't speak for other girls, but I'd take a hairy, bearded manly man over a "pretty boy" any day. For some reason, though, the "metrosexual" look for guys seems to be a thing now. Whoever thought it was a good idea for straight men to shave their chests and wax their eye brows should be shot lol

Girls are attracted to one direction because they are famous and have power, not so much looks. Its just the money and fame they have boosts them up in the attraction scale a little bit.
