So I have a event on Saturday that I really really want to go to but I work Saturday but I’m thinking about calling out telling my boss that I have food poisoning, so should I tell him that I got food poisoning from cooking chicken wrong or should I tell him that I accidentally ate something that had dairy in it and now I am currently sitting on the toilet with the runs and throwing up constantly and I can’t come in. Should I tell him the excuse with the dairy or should I use the excuse with the chicken? I had food poisoning before that shit was miserable. I’m a manager it’s my shift I’m the only manager on that shift that’s why I gotta come up with a good story. I don't know usually don’t call out unless it’s an emergency

If you’re going to use food poisoning as an excuse to call off of work, there’s no need to go into detail unless your boss asks. Usually liars give themselves away when they over-explain without being asked for an explanation. Just simply say that you’re sick with food poisoning, so you won’t be able to come into work that day. Leave it as that unless your boss asks what gave you food poisoning. And then if they ask, you can go into detail about whatever imaginary food made you sick.
Thanks
and then, somehow, your boss took off Saturday and went to that event and saw you there lmao
Use the dairy excuse, it sounds more believable.
