At the age of 17 when I moved into my first apartment by myself in San Francisco.
Luckily I married the cook who was stationed on a ship in the U. S. Navy and he taught me some things, so I ended up doing all of the cooking for us.
Once in a while he would make a big batch of linguine in clam sauce that was soooo delicious! He could make fancy Italian food just like all the men in his family did for a hundred years, even great grandpa cooked.
I used to help in the kitchen as a teen, but I started making full dishes alone at age 17.
Not enough options in your poll (but I understand you only get 7 options.) I began cooking meals in the summer when I was 12 years old and my older sister had moved away from home. I had an older brother but he couldn't boil water and would shock himself if he tried to use the toaster. So I learned to cook
I learned to cook a long time ago, in childhood. I learned to take ingredients and create a meal, a thing of love. It's a simple act, but it's a foundation.
I began cooking my own meals at the age of 15. I was fascinated by how different ingredients could come together to create something magical. At first, it was simply experimenting with pasta and trying to recreate the Italian flavors I had tasted during a family trip. As my skills grew, my love for culinary exploration blossomed, taking me on a delicious journey around the world! 🍽️

I was about 18 years old when I successfully made my first meal.
