I love a classic Caprese sandwich. The combination of fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and basil drizzled with balsamic glaze on crusty bread is divine. It's light yet flavorful, perfect for a quick, satisfying meal, especially during the warm months! 🍅🥪

m 7 moGiven the fact that I'm surrounded by German bakeries I rather get some fresh bread buns or bread sticks and put some tasty cold cuts or cheese of my liking on them.

Same when in Greece and Italy. Though NYC has good bakery.

Oh yeah, absolutely. Let me guess, the NY bakeries were founded by German immigrants? :-D

7 moFavorite? A hot pastrami sub with Swiss cheese and mustard. But I haven't had one in 20 years. Hard to find these days. And not great healthy choice.

What I actually end up ordering most of the time? Steak and cheese with mushrooms, peppers, and onions.

Also not a great healthy choice. But once every few months probably won't kill me.

7 moI could never pick just one , clearly I’m a bit of a sandwich whore and could never be in a monogamous sandwich relationship , that would be so unfair to all the sandwiches that NEED to be eaten or as yet undiscovered. It’s the different variations and taste sensations served hot or cold or on specific bread. Recently I’ve been re-exploring the Vietnamese banh mi after vacationing over there earlier this year , but it could easily be some pastrami with some cheese and dill pickle , or a chicken & bacon club , or a roast beef and peppercorn mayo salad. …. or maybe just a grilled cheese with some Monterey Jack and pepper jack like I’m now thinking I want 😋😋

7 moFaves are oyster po-doys and catfish po-boys. They're special! Luckily I live where I can get both easily! Have catfish waiting in my "meat" drawer for me to bake. Oysters are messy because they're fried and have to go out to get that! So not very often.

Tri-Tip & Cheese
Togo's roast beef (#7) on white It's going to be one of these. The Tri-tip I make myself, but it's not practical to make a roast beef sandwich at home, because pre-sliced roast beef is awful, and I don't eat nearly enough to justify making a whole roast to slice up at home, so I get those from Togo's, a regional sandwich chain in the Bay Area. But I need some cheese on mine.

7 moA good Italian beef, dipped. That leaves out Buona Beef (since they only sell the HOT giardinera), and Portillo's. Go to Pop's for great one.
