I don't know why guys are getting offensive about money. All you said was to not judge what you think a girls personality is based off of her looks. I know a high maintenance girl (sadly, she is my older sister) and she is a spoiled brat who is all for show, but not all girls are like that. She doesn't force us to buy her stuff, hey always offer and get her everything even if they just met her five minutes ago. They know she is a brat, she is confident in it. Just because a girl is beautiful doesn't mean she is or she is not high maintenance.

I think someone who is high maintenance is someone who is very physically attractive and feels she's entitled to respect, a lover, etc because of it. Very self serving, has unrealistic standards and throws a fit when she doesn't get her way but could care less about a guy not getting his way.

Yeah I have to agree and think there can be quite a fine line with certian women in rleationships between looking after yourself and becomming high maintanince.

I mean yeah there are certian situations and times when its ok to blow off some extra income on thta nice thing you might want but doing it all the time and having to wear nice things that are big brands at all times is kinda over doing it and will burn a hole in the cash flow

As for the attention thing yeah that kind of applies with its own fine line and all that same factors of craving too much or even too little in some senses during a relationship

I personally think having a balance is best so you can get yourself nice things now and again but not all the time leaving yourself broke

For a "high maintenance" girl to be worth the risk, two things have to be in place.

1. You have to arrange your relationship and have safeguards in place so that the inevitable breakup does not destroy you. You have to be on guard.
2. She had to possess some compensatory assets. The obvious one is that she is glamorous arm decoration in public settings. Another is ground-shaking sexual skills. Anyone who watched the lovely {!} Paris Hilton Blowjob video knows he earned that dinner at Ruth's Chris even though she could afford it anyway.

To me, high maintenance is a girl who spends too much time thinking about how she looks and shopping. She is also dependant whether it's for your attention or your money. She is a ME ME ME kind of girl. That's what High maintenance means to me. And obviously, you are not high maintenance. You look very independent, very responsible and very fabulous ! ;-)

I do think you look great on all 3. You just look more approachable on the last 2. Why? Because if you make an habit of pimping up all the time in normal occasions, yeah, you look amazing, it's true, but you may give the impression that you ask a lot of yourself and will probably ask just as much out of your mate. I don't know if I should call that being intimidated but guys may think they either won't be up to the task or just won't want to. Which means that among those still interested, there might be a lot of vain guys and guys who have a lot of money in search of a woman who looks good to decorate their arm. It may very well be what you are looking for but whoever you will find this way, you will sure have to work for your couple as you said in your take because the guy chose the girl from picture 1, not 2 and 3. Anyway, you prolly know all of this since you're smart, but who knows, we can't think of everything

I wanted to add that the first picture makes you look beautiful and glamourous. You look great. But the other two shows you are not only a natural beauty, but the smile and silliness makes you look like a fun and nice person. To be honest, I would prefer to meet the person from the last two pictures. She looks more like what I am after in a woman.

High maintenance isn't about how people are dressed, but mainly about their interactions with other people, be it lovers, friends or people who serve them.
Using the example of that girl from Gossip Girl, forgot her name, she's high maintenance, her best friend who dresses just as good if not better is not high maintenance. Of course it's just a show and they play characters, but watch the show and you'll see it's not about looking glam = high maintenance

Thistype of girl and even men exist especially in south east asia! If you don't have designer bags and brand cosmetics, you're looked down to. Same goes for when women date men over here. They mainly let everything get paid by the guy and if the guy can't afford then he's not worth their time.

I myself love styling and all that but im still simple minded and not materealistic at all. I hate such girls and people in general. Usually a pain in the butt to be surrounded by them

I'm very low maintenance, a bit too low maintenance but when I go out, I will dress up to the nines! Sometimes I'll wear my best clothes and make-up just on a day out because I feel like it, it gives me a boost. Sometimes I feel like people are looking at me and thinking I'm always like that and high maintenance when I'm the opposite most of the time. People need to remember that 90% of people who LOOK high maintenance actually aren't.

I don't think there is a clear definition of high maintenance. I have always thought that high maintenance was more about them having unrealistic standards for what they expect out of their partners, or that they are so self absorbed they neglect their partner. In other words the relationship ends up being about 90% about her, and only 10% about the guy.

This take changed my view on great looking women! I knew that everyone has issues, but never knew this is what you thought everyday? I blame television for envisioning the stereotypical outcome to our generation and it's disrespect towards God's most beautiful creation. I've always been single not by choice i suspect the reason is because I'm an introvert but I also I'm very outspoken. I have never told a girl that she is high maintenance.
However if I knew with 100% certainty that a girl is high maintenance, it would be a minus, But it would not be something for what I would immediately reject her (not such a big issue).

I guss it is because such a lifestyle does not seem to be relaxed, and I like relaxed.
