Everyone has problems, here are what it's like to be a teenage girl.

Hormones

My hormones are changing. I'm sweating like a pig even when I'm not hot. I'm eating like a cow even when I'm not hungry. My period is irregular and annoying.

Periods

Again, my period is irregular asf, and sometimes I get cramps that KILL me or a headache that kills me.

Physical appeal

I'm expected to look good 24/7

Like no I can't

I'm not gonna dress up to show off my assets to guys

School

I get judged if I don't look 100%

I get judged if I DO look 100%

Straight A's? Genius. Let's have HIGH expectations.

Failing a class? Idiot. Probably gonna drop out, get pregnant and become addicted to crack.

Parents

Ok yes I have attitude sometimes but I usually don't mean to. Or they say "dont talk back" when I'm just replying to them. I dont think i know everything but I am not an idiot. They can't seem to realize that.

Other people

Oh I'm 16? Guess I'm stupid+naive+ a hoe

I'm a virgin? Guess I'm a prude.

I've had sex once? I'm a whore

I've had 2 exes? Oh what a slut

I've had 0 exes? Fucking prude

Oh I'm wearing a Metallica shirt? I'm uneducated+rude+a drop out etc

I'm wearing make up? Seeking guys approval

Like no, I wear what I wear for ME, fuck y'all

Standards

I gotta look amazing everyday

I gotta be nice + smart

I feel so pressured to look and act and be a certain way

Mental problems

i use to have depression, and I became suicidal. Told someone and they did nothing.

I attempted suicide but my friend helped me before anything serious happened to me.

Guess I just want attention.

Anxiety? Nah not real, just nerves.

(You don't understand how bad my social anxiety is, I can't even order my own food at a resteraunt)

Boys

There's these smooth-talking, sweet nothing-whispering, good-looking guys who try to get in our pants. Hormones + emotions+ teenage rebellion = not a good situation

Fuckboys are a major problem, especially if you're an above average looking person with a vagina.

(I'm not tryna generalize here so don't get butthurt)

Sorry if this seems as if I'm complaining, I'm not! Just figured I'd give you an insight into what it's like to be a teen girl in this generation. Overall, girls don't get enough credit for what we go through. Now I WOULD make one for guys but I can't speak for them so if someone makes one, that'd be awesome :)

Sadly a lot of those things don't change even when you hit your 20's. Like your hormones are still a roller coaster ride, your period still hate you and the cramps are murder sometimes, Physical appearance is still judged, college is a billion times more stressful, still have parent issues, other people still think the same, standards are set even higher since people will start to repeat,"your an adult act like one,"mental problems don't go away, and when boys become men. There are some that still act that way.

Mostly what I remember sucking as a teenager. Is the laws that make it so you can't do much without a parent. So people would just look down at your age sometimes. When your above 20 people will think your a failure in life if you don't have some amazing job that pays you well, graduated from a really good college, and your judged by your income. You can't rely on your parents for anything. If you do then your going to be really looked down upon. Then when you finally graduate college. The chances of getting a job in your field is extremely low and your going to spend a while working in a job you hate. That has nothing to do with all that money you spent on college. Then you start to be crushed under the pressure of getting a career asap before your 25. Which you might think that's a lot of time but depending on your situation. It's not a lot of time and the pressure just builds more and more the older you get.

From my experience being hated and alone in high school. Is a billion times better than figuring out how to live as an adult.

Just remember: Boys are often useless to you at that age... these days it takes close to or past the 30's on average to develop into something worth keeping around.

And some never grow up at all.

So far I'd say most of the comments made here corroborate my statements. So yeah, ignore them. Be brave and work on being the best person you can be. I believe in your ability to power through your fears and anxiety. (Many of us deal with these problems at all ages, and we have to work at it.)

10+ years ago I'd be making all kinds of arguments as being a teen boy was equally frustrating but a much different experience. I would've claimed you had it better based from that perspective. However, today I enjoy the insight for what it is and can't say any of it is worth worrying about. Thanks for sharing.

I am gonna sound mean but its my honest opinion; if these are the things that bother you.. Oh boy life will be a bitch. Sometimes you gotta look at the bigger picture and stop complaining. There are so many people suffering for actual good reasons that dont get to complain. This might bother you Im sure it does, but try to let it go, if you can't handle these minor setbacks, its gonna be a blow to yr face when real life starts. The depression part I do get, and I feel bad for that happening but try to draw strength from it and stop giving a fuck bout stupid people and stupid 'norms'

But look at it this way. These things are a real good way to distinguish true friends and lovers from people that see you as nothing more than a means to an end. Glad you had a friend help you through your attempted suicide. Be happy to know you have someone that was there for you in your darkest hour. My heart really does break to see that life became so rough that suicide seemed like the only way out for you. :)
I don't know for a fact if I helped someone from committing suicide once in high school because I didn't want to push the question because I know it's beyond embarrassing to talk about for them but based on how they thanked me in a hand written letter once for being his friend I think he had contemplated it.

Thing is, it can even be this way for guys too. I'd say it's a part of growing up for many people... and some (many) people never grow up or take much longer giving the illusion that it never ends, hehe. You'll always see it, but not in everyone.
