7 Reasons Why Women Should Hit On Men FIRST

I often think this society standard, "Men should make the first move," is one of the most (if not THE most) useless and silly society standards that still exist. Here are 7 reasons why I believe things should change:

1) Equality

I would say when a woman hits on a man is a sign of equality among the two genders. I hit on you as much as you hit on me.

2) It's your chance to come successful

Yes I'm talking about you women. Why wait for the men to hit on you first? Just go and do it first, if you fancy him and you notice he doesn't make a move. What stops you?

3) Lack of confidence

I'm one of those guys who naturally lack confidence. I'm not the super confident guy who can hit on girls like nothing. Well, there are some days where I get my boosts of confidence, but I don't have it naturally. Unless I'm drunk (see below at #4).

4) Less hangovers

Some guys (including me) have a lack of confidence (see #3 above), so they need alcohol to make up for it. And no, not just a little bit. You need some good amount of alcohol in order to be as confident as you want and even be confident enough to hit on 3-4 girls together, not only one. But it leads to hangovers lately. And the bad thing here as well? When you're drunk you are always get ignored. So confident girls should go first.

5) Men appreciate women who make the first move

If not all, there are many men who like it actually when women make the first move. And being considered desperate is nothing more than a myth. Only men who tilt to a more traditional way of thought are against it. So chances for women to get a positive response are pretty high.

6) Not spontaneous

Well some guys aren't spontaneous by nature, so they need to take their time to work things out first, and decide how to hit on a girl. It's even more difficult when you're trying to hit on a stranger you never seen before. And since spontaneity isn't related with any gender, it would be better if the more spontaneous person makes a move first.

7) Progression

As I said in #1 it's a sign of equality. And equality is a sign of progression. It means we got rid of some silly social standards where men should always make the first move.

Actually in a social study of a UK bar they had setup cameras and observed interactions between men and women. They were testing for who flirted with who first and made the first move. At the end of the test they interviewed the test subjects and asked them who made the first move. Both men and women answered that they had made the first move. But how can both make the first move?

They went over the footage again and found out that indeed the women did actually make the first flirty move which may have been really subtle like a smile or wave or orbiting around and dancing with guys to very overt flirty move like a slap on the ass. After the first move the guy then notices the girl and then decided whether to approach or not in which case he thinks he has made the first move by approaching her.

So there is conflict in understanding who actually makes the first move. Guys think its approaching the woman when girls see a flirt as a first move. I would side with that women did actually make the first move and that men are just oblivious to the fact. Hence why guys also have more problems than women with social and emotional intelligence.

I have always been the approacher. I am much more comfortable in the drivers seat. I started very young though, when I got older I noticed that men tend to look at girls who approach as easier though, so you def. have to have the backbone for it & to know exactly what and who you want so you don't just make it easier for someone to use you for sex.

I totally felt that men should always approach a women first.. but now that I've been reading articles and asking men is it okay for a woman to approach them? Nearly all men said that it would actually be a good thing for a woman to approach a guy they like.. so i think I will approach the guy I fancy now.. hope it goes well..

I've seen this scenario play itself out time after time. Start of school (university level). The girl is away from home for the first time, or it's simply because she's away from home town and anyone who might know/gossip about her.

I've never heard the conversations between them, but it seems as if the girls go on a selection frenzy, and it seems you just happen to be paired off in no time flat. It's the women doing the picking, but it is subtle. It just happens to be less subtle in overseas study situations.

Come to think of it, women ultimately do all the selection, even if the guys think they are. Granted, often it seems the wrong guy is very bold in introducing and pestering the girls (in France they call this type -- not particularly attractive, and yet very forward -- drageur -- (as in fishing -- dragging a line through the water).

Like anything else, there are exceptions. There is an old saying: "he chased after her until she caught him.""

I don't agree at all. This is anything but equality when you all keep putting it down to gender roles. Whoever has the crush should make the first move, rather than expect to just sit back, look cute and wait on your crush to make the move for you because your incapable of it. If you adopt this kind of attitude, you'll expect each and every crush you have to take you by the hand all of the time. You'll never learn properly unless you snap out of it and try talking to people you like. All your doing is wasting there time and your own, and over complicating it for yourselves. It may not have the outcome that you want, but at least you'll know where you stand with that person.

Make herself available, and not closed off or distant.

Talk, laugh, animation, do something, be fun. That helps a guy open up more. Women are more social (usually) so why blame the guy?
