I don't play online anymore, firstly because it costs now, but secondly because of how people treated me and others. The behaviour is toxic and not enjoyable. The moment they realise you're female, you get hurled abuse and if you lose, it's immediately because you're female! It made me feel like I wasn't good enough/accepted. Either that or I'd get special treatment when I just wanted to be considered equal and part of the team. I now much prefer playing single player, I don't need the stress.
Girl gamers are very common in my opinion. I'd venture to say that a third of the people I've played with are girls, if not more. With that out of the way, the ones flaming and raging the worst are (again in my own experience) nearly always the girls.
Grief and a hard time is part of any competitive experience. Doubly so in the gaming community. It does tend to be better at the higher/highest level of play. Perhaps mostly because you're frequently put against the some opponents.
I don't game online anymore because I have better things to do. I am sensitive too and I just muted everyone when I used to game online. Ignore the nasty opinions on this myTake.
I love to play with women cuz they don't have an ego. It's just pure humor and fun. But the most annoying thing online is when guys hear a woman's voice, they all try to party up with her.
Yea! Cuz trying to pick up women on Xbox live is the thing now. They'll definitely get a date that way
Did you ever see that site, Fat, Ugly or Slutty? It was. Name and Shame blog for all the horrendous messages girl gamers receive (mostly on Xbox Live).
FWIW, I turn off voice chat the moment I start a game for the first time. This has precluded me from other games I enjoyed in the past, but I just don't like it with the weird randoms out there.
real answer: girls a super emotional and massive sooks so when told to "git gud" that take it as a personal insult and think gamers are assholes since they are so used to everyone saying shit about them behind their back https://imgur.com/gcUM6tG.jpg meet gabe
I'm just mad about the fact female characters suck most of the time, so I'd rather play a guy. Take GTA five for instance, if you go online and pick the female option, she's not as nicely created as the guy's.
I think that mostly girls think it's pointless to spend hours by playing. I seldom play online games. I don't like long games, prefer small like these ones . It's better to spend time with friends than online.
Also, the points you are trying to make have already been made hundreds of times. You say you are young; maybe you should learn a little more about the real world before you post stuff like this. Frankly, you sound like you were surprised with how rough the online gaming community can be at times.
Single player is supreme. I love a good story to play through.
Multiplayer Co OP through a story is fun too. Otherwise multiplayer these days is just meh.
And hell, I met a girl on here and we play civilization v all the time.

I have seen communication in online games in general beeing harsh (too harsh mostly fin my opinion) and I have removed players from my friendslist for that reason. If I get no information a player being female, I consider male because it is easier. I know I treat female gamers differently but not in a sexist way but like leaving out remarks that might offence her like joking about the boobs of a character.
My eldest daughter who is 6-years-old now, has been playing video games since she was 2, I let her play any game and genre she wants, with the condition to never reveal her age and gender.
games are seen as male moreover they are made to appeal to hetero males more over the term gamer girl is made to make girls in gaming more sexy and appealing we dont say gamer boy we say gamer only which indicates it s male
What interests me is how you feel or act when gamers say ur male or don't believe ur female before hearing your voice. I feel gamers all treat each other l
Well people are often anon and in the comfort of their own home... it only makes sense. In a way it's a good thing because people can express their true feelings without people attacking them on the streets. For instance there have been some cases where the supposed white cop shooting a black guy was justified (with new given info on it)... if i went out and discussed it i would be attacked maybe killed.

This is poorly written.

Many male gamers feel shielded behind the screen and keyboard and mouse/or gaming controls, but when you meet them face-to-face they are cowards.
It's the same thing with girls bitching on social media.
@Jamesol1 people in general feel safe behind an internet persona.

There are lots of gamer girls, but some of us prefer offline games.
Oh come-on... girls are just pussies to play online cause you actually don't know how to play :-P
Plenty of girls play gta online. Plenty of girls play overwatch. There are so many girl gamers playing so many games.
I find it interesting there are actually female gamers. Its rare especially people I've met, don't know anything about them.
i don't think women like to admit, where men couldn't care less
