Why did this girl all of a sudden "friendzone" me/act distant?

So I've been talking to this girl for over a month now and up until about a week ago we would constantly text/call/flirt with each other. We met and went on a "date" (just grabbed bubble tea and talked) for two hours. I even got her a rose and a gift card on valentines' day which she even said was the cutest thing anyone's ever done for her. Then we were texting one day and she starts talking about her "major trust issues" and how she "wasn't down to date anyone right now" and how she's "lucky to have a 'friend' like me that understands her" and all that bullshit. Needless to say I was devastated because before this, all signs indicated that she was very interested in me and the attraction was definitely there. Since then, she's become progressively more distant to the point where she doesn't even bother replying to my texts/snapchats. I just don't understand where I went wrong? Did I go overboard with gifts? Maybe she's just not into me? Someone please tell me what I did that screwed everything up. I really feel we have a lot in common and we talked about anything we could think of. Just a short time ago she'd be the one initiating contact and blowing up my phone... now its like a complete 360 degree change and I feel really low..

First, there is no such thing as the "friendzone." The term friendzone is reserved for whiny piss babies that shoot the women that reject them. Don't be that guy.
Anyway, I think she might be ignoring you because of her trust issues, I mean she laid it all out right there. If this answer doesn't satisfy you, try asking her. I don't know who she is, if I were her like best friend or something then I could lay it down make you a powerpoint presentation and a 12 page paper. But I don't know her and you sure know her better than I do so try asking. Get her a little gift first, go to her house and just be friendly, talk. Someone did something that made her uncomfortable (I'm guessing) so this relationship needs to be rebuilt (I'm guessing) Start by talking.

Sounds like she is going though a difficult time and she is finding the relationship stressful (not because of you) Be there for her and be a friend. But don't get you hopes up too much she don't need a relationship atm and she might not want one later.

I don't know man I'm in the same boat except the girl didn't tell me she had a boyfriend until a week after Valentine's day and I got her a bear. I'm still working out my plan of action but if I were you I would talk to her and find out where y'all stand and then if she says she just wants to be friends then I don't know what else to tell you. But feel free to message me for more advice.

Sounds pretty simple to me, the date was just not what she was expecting and as nice as you were the chemistry just was not there. She probably does have those issues but you are just not the guy who can break through them for her so she can use them as an excuse. Sorry she is just not into you. This happens a lot, i don't know how many times this same thing happened to me.
