When did you first call your boyfriend/girlfriend babe?

So I know this sounds like a totally stupid question, but I haven't dated in 4 years. So this whole dating thing is new. He calls me sweetheart, beautiful. I call him handsome, but not all the time I want him to know Im not just saying that to be saying something and I mean it. So when do you call them babe? Or is calling them babe not a "thing" to do anymore?

I don't call my boyfriend babe often.. if I do, it'll be 'baby', most likely, and I've only called him that maybe once or twice over our 2+ years together.

I prefer to show him how much I care through actions- how much I'm wiling to go out of my way and sometimes the less convenient route to help make things easier than simply throwing in an occasional pet-name like that.
(Plus, that's more of his thing to do towards me. He calls me 'baby' on a regular basis. Started doing that maybe 2-3 months into our relationship.)

Babe is a stupid think to call each other in my opinion. I call my boyfriend my love, he calls me the same. Not sure why couples. Call each other babe

I've always considered the whole babe thing to be a staple of what I call psuedorelationships, or in other words the relationships that are formed by fairly uninteresting people with other uninteresting people because dating is a thing that people are suppose to do rather than because they've actually found something of unique value in each other. Or in short it's a generic word for generic relationships. So I don't do it or anything like it.
