Girl's Behavior

Female friend says she loves me... I'm confused?

Basically about one week ago I was walking to class and my friend was behind me and as I turned the corner she said "(My name), I love you." Usually she's sarcastic and playful but she sounded serious and her eyes looked very big. I didn't respond because I didn't expect it, and I was already too far from her to say anything. Then at the end of class she said a shy "hi" to me and punched my backpack. I wished her a good weekend but she sounded disappointed like she was expecting something from me.. But now she flirts with my friend in front of me and would mention it to my face ("Oh sorry, I didn't mean to kick you")

by the way, I told her I liked her before this happened.
