It shouldn’t annoy them, but girl, don’t put yourself in that position—go out and learn martial arts or something. I carry my knitting bag, usually and have lots of fun could-be weapons in there if I need them.
Yeah, rely on a guy who likes you and you will get protection from him. But both of you need to like each other.

You should probably learn to defend yourself, but physically protecting our loved ones is deeply ingrained in a man's psyche. I never feel stronger or more alive than when I am in the role of protector.

Having someone protect you is cool. But becoming totally dependent is bad. Continue your training grasshopper. Become strong like mountain, but remain gentle like water. Listen to Mater Kucha, for I know all, like the tortoise. . . . . .

Why would it be wrong to let a guy protect you i mean itd help if you learnt how to protect yourself but you can rely on a guy its your choice to make if you feel safe around him then it doesn't matter what people say

I don't just walk around relying on people. If he can, that's nice but I would just use my speed to my advantage and run tbh
You'd be better off carrying a self defense weapon as well. You can't always guarantee you can out run an attacker.

It was the guy I thought was going to protect me that did the damage. In short learn how to protect yourself.
