Do you text your friend of the opposite gender everyday?

There's this girl I've been texting on snapchat for a few months, basically texted her throughout all 16 weeks of the semester and even today we have texted each other nearly everyday. I've known her for over a year because we work at the same job. She also will be going to my college next year too since she graduated from the college I previously got my first degree from. Thing is, she has a boyfriend. Even when I leave her on read and I plan on not talking to her for some time she double texts me and we keep the conversation going. We've talked about hanging out, I just find it weird hanging out with a girl that has a boyfriend though. I don't know she's nice and cool, just the weirdest friendship I've ever had with a girl lol.

It depends. There is a guy that I used to talk to almost every day. Platonic conversations. We usually end up "fighting" and then we take months to check up on each other due to foolish pride/stubborness.
He usually contacts me first. It has been like that for a really long time. We talk, fight, we get silent for a while and then we talk again.
I also have another friend whom I text once in a while in order to check whether he is alive/well or in order to hang out.

Yes, this is very normal for friends of the opposite gender. I have a couple of guy friends, who have girlfriends, and we still snap every day.
