Do guys like when girls tell them they like them?

I feel like a loser for posting two questions in just one day...But this question just kind of bounced into my mind. So, do guys like it when girls just say, "I like you." I could never do it in person, but I might be able to do it via text. I'm shy when it comes to expressing what I feel, but anyway, please leave your comment below :)

How about a realistic answer based on my experience on this site because a lot of questions and polls center around this topic.

When it comes to a girl making the move on the guy, guys SAY they like it but what they MEAN is they would like it if girls they were interested in told them this. There's always exceptions to this, but in general girls don't make the first move because the guy is expected to. This goes for telling someone you like them too (which has never worked in my personal experience).

Finally, if you're totally set on telling a guy this it's best to do it in person (scary I know!) instead of via text. Stuff like that doesn't translate as well over text as it does face to face. I would advise against telling a guy this unless you're sure he's into you and he's just really shy and you want him to make a move (which he won't do unless he's sure you're into him too).

Yes it does help. Its just...that's what confuses me. Usually the guys I like never find out if like them. I mean, I do date, but it's never the guy I originally liked. I guess I suck at hinting. If he's really shy and won't make a move until he knows I like him, how will I know he likes me? Like you said, I should be sure he does before saying anything.

Gosh if I knew the answer to that I wouldn't be on this site! lol. Determining if the other person likes you is difficult enough as it is without even considering all the complexities of dating. Basically it boils down to this. Either or both of you show some form of interest. If the other reciprocates - continue. If not, move on. The only way to get better at "hinting" is to flirt and meet more people and practice it more - Practice makes perfect as they say!

Definitely depends on a couple of things:

- What was your tone and expression when you said it.

- What do you mean by "like"?

For me as a guy I get frustrated by that specific comment. Maybe I'm just inexperienced and over analyze but I feel like that comment is the bane for two of my past relationships.

First of all, a girl that approaches guys has balls. That scores the first base.

Second of all, if she has the guts, she really likes me a lot. If she doesn't, she loses second base.

Third of all, I want her to show me just how much she likes me. And that covers up third base.

My answer is: if she doesn't do any of that, it's highly likely I'll say no.

Ahh...thing is I don't have balls. So...Guess we wouldn't work out...lol but seriously it's hard for a girl to tell the guy she likes how she feels. Men can be huge assholes and I take rejection, mean words, very seriously. I never forget it.

Yeah unless I don't know them that well and just recently met them which would lead me to believe that they are clingy and not the kind of girl I would dig or want to be with. If you do just make sure you know they like you and you'll be all good and don't worry or be shy in doing it in person because the guy will end up being quite shocked and happy in a good way so I would say go for it, you'll be happy you did in the end if this guy truly likes you.
