So this girl was in my class at community college last year. At that time I was on a bit of a dating hiatus for various reasons, so she found another boyfriend that year.
Now earlier this month she got all excited when I told her that I had applied to a collegethat is local to her (local meaning 30 miles away). Then she got worried when I told her I wouldn't get admitted due to how I ranked my applications (see sub-header for context).
This whole thing is giving off low-key crush vibes, especially since she gave me her number when I asked if I call her [on FB Messenger] back in September. I basically wanted to vent to her about a classmate getting into a relationship with my crush at the time. For more on that, see the questions linked below.

Jesus Christ. Just ask her out
I have no feelings for her, first of all. Secondly, I don't know where we'd meet, since I'm not getting in to said college.
She might be saving you as a backup
Yeah, you never know with these things. She could've been into me back then too, I was just less susceptible at the time.
Should I ask her just to be sure? I know I said I wouldn't, but should I?
Ask her on a date? Or ask her if she still likes you? If it’s asking whether she likes you, I would strongly advise you not to. You’ll come off looking insecure, and things might get awkward between the 2 of you.
