Ok, so I usually would come to sites like this, but I need help. So, there is this girl I'm into. We were friends in high school, we would talk every once in a while. Well, we both go to college now and while we don't see each other in person, we have been texting a lot more recently. I really like. She's funny. She's kind. She's good looking. I know she likes me as a friend. But I can't tell if she likes me somewhat more. For example, she's been calling me bestie more often now. I wished her a happy birthday and she responded with "thanks bestie! X". Other guys wished her happy birthday, but she didn't include the x or the bestie. She reacts to my comments, when she only really ever just likes comments. I've been trying to talk to her more about her interests and stuff, and we talk a lot more now. This is my first time trying to engage with a girl. I was kind of bullied into a relationship in 6th grade, so I have no experience with flirting or dating really, so any advice would be helpful.

You’re not getting “secret signals” here you’re getting friendly ones. “Bestie” is usually a soft way of saying you’re in the friend lane, even if she’s a bit warmer with you than others, so don’t assume it means romantic interest. If you want to find out, shift from texting to action ask her out clearly (“let’s grab coffee just us”) and see how she responds; that’s the only thing that will actually give you a real answer.
