Has anyone experienced being the ugly friend? what was it like? How did you feel?

So basically I have like seven friends, but I'm only close with one friend, and she is literally the prettiest girl in my class. All of my friends are prettier than me, even the girl I had once deemed unattractive is prettier than me, like the most unattractive girl in my class is prettier than me.

I feel ugly! Really ugly! My crush said I was smart but ugly, my bff ( my closest friend) is the prettiest girl in class. I feel so bland. So ugly. I just want to be happy. A girl laughed and called me ugly. She said my hair is like an hedgehog, she said I'm so ugly. I never felt this way until recently. That hurt my self esteem

Any advice? Have you felt this way

oh dear, i felt exactly like you when i was your age. i got mean remarks for my eyes and my lips and i absolutely hated my face.
let me tell you one thing: it get's better! being a teenager is shit but it will end some day. and you will have to work hard on it but you'll get your confidence back.
those features i hated so much on me are now favorite ones.
and i am sure that you are a pretty girl! you'll get through this <3

I feel this way all the time. It's awful.
My friends don't say anything but I can tell by the way they exchange looks that they think I'm ugly. All my friends are literally SOOO pretty, and I'm only close with one of them, who likes me as a person, not bcz I'm ugly.

Sure, I hung out with the popular kids in school.
When I was in high school I was friends with two guys who were definitely better looking. The kind of guys who got attention from girls for doing absolutely nothing and it was eye opening to me. I did okay but I had to try way harder and be fun to talk to and entertaining to be around.

Yes… most of us have.
my daughter is 15. She was like that for 2-3 yrs…
now she knows she is pretty. Most of my friends were prettier, taller than me. When we walk around… guys stopped her to talk to her… I just stand around waiting… I had no problem with that because I am good in other ways.
work on your inner beauty and confidence. Comparing your self to others will make you feel even more depress.

I went thought this my whole life. For me I went to the gym and built my body up to offset my looks.. it's something I have control over.. now when I'm with my friends or other people I usually have to best body in the room.. that makes me feel better inside knowing this.
