Why would this girl ignore me, then come back to me again?

There's this girl who likes me and I do also like her. We hung out for a bit and we talk via text. One day out of the blue she just poof stops the contact via text and stops hanging out where we usually hangout. Then she started blowing me off for a bit I'm guessing by hanging out with this other guy for literally one day then hanging out with her other friends. I was quite upset by this but never showed it. She then ghosted me for a while clicking on my stories and snaps. Also at Prom she would frequently look and me and look away awkwardly and also check me out and blush. Suddenly, out of the blue she contacts me again saying she was sorry for ignoring me and whether we wanted to hangout again, so I took the opportunity of asking her out, where she said that she was only being friendly and 'those signs were just her trying to be friendly' and that she views someone else ' that way though'. To be honest, she's definitely lying about this as she never hangs out with boys (apart from me). I was quite sad and said that I misunderstood. She then started looking at me again and I would try to ignore her. She tells me that I can message her when ever I want but I don't message her anymore. I'm so confused by her actions why is she doing this? And what should I do?
