I was seeing a girl for around a month, whilst we never made anything official we were a couple in every aspect other than title. She expressed an interest in being a couple at the time.
Long story short, things got a little bit messy and we had quite a big disagreement over our differences of views. I wanted to take things slowly and carefully but she really pushed. I also realised some of her behaviours will very quickly upset me and cause future trouble.
Not her fault at all. I had hoped to end things gently and mutually.
The day it happened, she got flustered and simply told me, "it was nice spending time with you but bye forever". At that time I just replied goodbye since I wasn't feeling good about our situation anyway. It seemed like the right time.
She was true to her word and didn't contact me, I didn't contact her either.
I had to quarantine for a while so we couldn't meet anyway, usually we meet by chance in the same building's cafeteria most days.
Yesterday my quarantine ended and she saw me in the building, cheerily said hello to me.
At the end of the day, I was talking to my friends out the front like most days, when she suddenly appeared again and asked to talk with me privately.
I obliged and she seemed her usual cheery self, like nothing had happened, though she always was stoic. She asked how I was doing, if I was feeling better and generally we had a quick catch up. She was gazing into my eyes with a smile, we've always chuckled whenever we make eye contact. The spark is definitely still there but knowing what I know it probably can't happen again.
I could tell maybe she wanted to say something else or was maybe on the verge of tears. She asked me a few more questions such as have I met anyone else or do I still talk to me ex, to which I gave her honest answers.
Shortly after, she wished me well and said bye to which I did the same.
What was that? Some sort of closure? Is she trying to see what happens if we talk again?
