Why are your friends jealous when you're happy with your life?

I've been through great depression and terrible breakup, (she knew it)

But after I finally recovered and now I'm just simply happy and content with my life as I carved my own path.

She tells me she is jealous and when I told her but I had to go through a lot, she says "yeah whatever".

Like how petty can someone be? They say I was the light on their darkest times yet they think I don't deserve happiness or high success. It's sad that I had to remind her the reason for my success was extra hardwork and to be happiest was to endure heart breaking times.. Still she thought I was just lucky.
