Guys are told by men and women alike to work on their career to attract women. But why is that ok? Do women love us or our money? Cause we don't care what a woman makes.

Because historically, women had to invest more in their offspring than men did because pregnancy used to be physically risky and, by virtue of having a uterus, women had a more natural responsibility for children. As a result, women evolved to be demanding and shy, specializing in childcare and extracting resources from men.

No, in fact, hypergamy is intensifying right now because of the internet, in terms of sexual economy theory, women sexually commodify themselves with a certain exchange value every time they sexually reject or accept men based on of your resources.

It's how I was raised to work hard and take care of women otherwise I wasn't a good person.

After my marriage ended and I was all used up by my ex I realized that I was her slave. I should've invested more time and money into myself, and my physical appearance so I would be as valuable as her and have more options too.
