I 'put " " around the word friends. She asked why. I said, well "we're "friends", right", I mean, I could have just have easily said "we're frenemies". And still put quotes around it. So, why does she care that I put quotes around the word "friends"
My theory without knowing the conversation is she views the term as a prepackaged and loaded word that signifies a secret or underlying intention prepackaged as friends. I would not assume she is interested in dating you.
