Girls, Female friends behavior?

I'm just curious about some actions about my very close female friend that's kinda got me a little mind boggled and some girls perspective would be appreciated, we talk just about everyday say Goodnight every night end phone calls with I love you every time, recently she confronted me about her being the one to initiate most of our conversations and she gets fairly upset if she doesn't hear from me for a day or two and expressed frustration about it and told me I need to step up to the plate and and be better about that so I have I've been doing all the contacting now and she definitely had a point about that I wasn't the best at that, also she told me to put more thought into our conversations this was said in a joking way one night though, she's been sending me pictures of herself, I've just ran into a bit of confusion now as it seems she's not so talkative at the moment even though I've worked on everything we talked about, main question is why say and tell me all these things and then become kind of unresponsive? she does have a hectic life to be fair I care about her and love her greatly we've known each other for over 9 years and been through a lot together I'm (37M) and she's (46 ) thanks in advance for your advice

My first thought halfway reading this was that she has feelings towards you. However when I read this part “we've known each other for over 9 years and been through a lot together”. It changed my perspective.

Since she seems like a good friend, maybe she’s noticing a change that is occurring with you. For example your being more dry or short with texts. She could be concerned because of the sudden change which could have led to your problem of her being mad at you. Of course she shouldn’t express her worry through anger.

If that doesn’t seem to be the case then maybe she does have feelings towards you and I’m just mistaken.
