Why Does My Female Friend Get Possessive When She Doesn't Want Romance?

I've been friends with a girl since high school, and we hang out every long holiday. Despite her inviting me out all the time, nothing romantic has ever happened between us, and she's made it clear she doesn't want to turn any of her friends into boyfriends. But here's the thing: she still gets curious and possessive when it comes to my other female friends. Recently, I went to the beach with my family, but I didn't tell her who I went with, and she interrogated me about it. She even made my other female friend feel suspicious through video call.

I'm confused by her behavior - why would she care so much if she doesn't want romance? Have you ever been in a similar situation where a friend gets possessive without any romantic interest? What do you think might be going on here?

You ever have that dude friend that just awesome to hang out with? But then he gets a girlfriend and he never has any time to hangout and he's no longer cool and you realize it's because of her?

That's how... most normal people let it go but some try to keep what was for themselves. Doesn't have to have sexy time stuff involved to feel like you're losing something.

When I told a girl I went out with I had female friends it bothered her and unfriended me after and didn't want to hang out. Women are very insecure
