I got rejected by this girl that loved me, but she picked this guy over me at the end because they knew each other way before me. I suggest you talk to a professional therapist to work through your grief over her loss. You have come to the rational conclusion that this person will never be yours. So, why do you deny yourself happiness with someone else? You're far too young to conclude there is no one else IN THE WORLD who you might love just as well, or possibly better.

Being a manwhore will never satisfy a longing for someone who you love and who returns your love. That's just revenge. It's fine to sit out being with someone until you're interested. And I suggest that you relearn to love yourself. Also, don't sell yourself short and end up with hookups when you know that's not what you want, and will not satisfy you in the long run.

I understand you're a young man with strong sexual drives. But you'll be disappointed afterward. That's what I learned at your age. I also think you're ignoring your grief and loss by the fantasy/error of someone being a "soulmate" or the only person on earth you could love.

Get professional help to move forward and get back on that horse again. It will take time, but you have plenty of that.
